In this session we have provided an overview of the palace complex known as Knossos, during the Prehistoric Neo-palatial period. You should now be familiar with the architecture of the palace at Knossos, and the significance of some of the finds. But, you will realise that the function of some the finds, such as the Snake Goddess, must remain speculative, because archaeological enquiry cannot always provide definitive answers.
In the next session we examine Gortyn, the site which epitomises Graeco-Roman Crete.
